Supreme Protein Powder

Springing out of their protein bar recall this past spring, the makers of the wildly popular Supreme Protein bar have now released a new powdered version of this product. Each serving will contain 30 g of protein, a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals, and healthy fats including flax seed oil. From what I’m told, the powder will come in 3 flavors (chocolate, vanilla and a natural version). Of course, they claim that it’s the best tasting etc. etc. but they’re also claiming that the product is “Clinically proven to promote dramatic results in major clinical trials“. Will this new product live up to the huge success of their protein bar? If the price is low and the taste is as good as they claim, they might have a chance. Only time will tell.

Got something to say?

Hey Scott this is kind of unrelated to the topic but it does involve protein bars… well, here goes…
Everything I have read on the internet suggests that cooking whey powder will “denature” the protein. By “denature” I think they’re saying it will become unsoluable protein. Is this correct? Finally, if it is correct then doesn’t that mean we’re shelling out tons of money on protein bars that we can’t even use?? I would think that some supp company out there would gimmick their bar if it was prepared using a no-bake method…
What are your thoughts??
Good question! All proteins that are eaten are denatured by the hydrochloric acid in your stomach, this is just part of the digestive process. It’s physiologically impossible eat or drink any protein source and keep it undenatured. As an aside, any form of heating denatures a protein so unless you’re eating your chicken, beef, fish or eggs uncooked, you’re eating denatured protein every day!
Wrong! Do you even know what denaturing of a protein is?
“Clinically proven to promote dramatic results in major clinical trials“.
Kind of like Sex Panther cologne.
“60% of the time it works every time.”
